CLINICAL ADVANTAGES

• Bead-and-Flange combination at the deep cuff strengthens the anchorage of the catheter into the abdominal wall.
• The bead rests just inside the peritoneum to prevent dialysate leakage.
• The flange is placed flat just outside the peritoneum and is sutured to the rectus muscle. A purse-string suture between the bead and the flange decreases the risk of early leakage.

SPECIAL FEATURES

• The flange increases the mass of tissue in-growths into the cuff and flange structure which further reduces the risk of leakage.
• The flange-and-bead are affixed to the tubing at a 45 degree angle in order to point the intraperitoneal segment downwards with less tendency to migrate into the upper abdomen.

Redi-Tech Medical offers a complete line of Swan Neck Catheters. From the Tenckhoff curl to the Missouri catheter, they all have the silicone bead and a felt disc. The bead rests just inside the peritoneum to prevent dialysate leakage. The felt disk is placed just outside the peritoneum and is sutured to the rectus muscle. Fibroblasts grow into the fibers of the felt cuff to anchor the catheter. A second cuff is the subcutaneous tissue is designed to seal the exit site, helping to prevent bacteria from entering into the catheter tract.
